Fishing Gran Canaria

Gran Canaria is a tropical holiday paradise all year long. The weather in june is not much different than the weather in January. In the middle of the ocean, about 200 miles west from the coast of Africa this is a warm paradise, full of life. This is the reason Gran Canaria is a great fishing spot. Gran Canaria fishing experience is varied, rich in catch and really exciting. Gran Canaria offers opportunities for big game fishing, carp fishing, sports fishing and just overall fishing trips. Fishing on Gran Canaria is permitted all year round, with some regulations and usually the fish is released just after catching.
The wide ocean area around permits the fishing charters to choose variable locations, depending on current conditions, water temperature and weather.
Fishing on Gran Canaria is allowed either from the shore at many of the locations around the beaches and harbours or from specialized and licensed fishing boats. Fishing from the shores requires a permit, but fishing trips on Gran Canaria are legal for everyone without a permit, which is usually the case if you are here for a holiday fishing trip.

The boat you are booking for fishing has the most modern fishing equipment like GPS, Sonar, Radar, Plotter, VHF, and so on.
Our fishing boat is a Cata 356. It has length of 12 meters and width of 4 meters. The fishing boat is powered by two engines, each of them with power of 325 horsepower and top speed reaching over 28 knots. This wide and stable boat is perfect for day trolling or bottom fishing. The fishing boat is also equipped with a toilet for your convenience in the middle of the ocean.

Big Game Fishing Gran Canaria

From October until May we are bottom fishing or sailing for fishing to Gran Canaria reefs.
This period gives great opportunities for fishing Breams, Morays, Snappers, Jacks, Garfish, Atlantic Bonitos, Congers and a lot of other fish species.
We also catch some Rays that are usually between from 10 to up to 300 pounds each. Any rays and sharks that are caught are released immediately, as we are following the tag-and-release fishing principle.

In February, March and April there is good chance for tuna catching. Fishing often ends with Albacore, Bigeye and Yellowfin Tuna being caught.

From May untill October is when th BIG GAME FISHING on Gran Canaria is at its best. These are the best months for catching Big Game fish such as Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Spearfish, Wahoo and Dorado. Big Game Fishing is aimed at catching large fish, known for their sport fishing qualities. Tuna and Marlin are the usual targets of big game fishing Gran Canaria.

Gran Canaria Fishing offers many species of fish in the water around the island. There are more than 40 different species of fish, including big game fish like Marlins and Tunas, some traditional fish like Mackrel and Moray and many spectacular and exotic Gran Canaria fishing experiences like the Dolphin fish, Gar fish, Lizard fish, Puffer fish, Scorpion fish, Spear fish and more.

Currently the law in Spain prohibits the sale of fish caught by anglers. We release all blue and white marlin, spearfish, sharks and rays immediately after catching them. Any other catch belongs to the crew and is left and intended for personal use. If you would like to keep some of the fish - please talk to the crew before the start of your fishing trip.

Sport Fishing Gran Canaria

The most common reservation for sport fishing we offer is called "Part Charter" this is the cheapest way to spend a day enjoying sport fishing.
The Part Charter offers fishing with up to 12 fishing rods and maximum 10 people on board - fishermen or spectators.
Fishing with one, two or 3 fishing rods per person is most common on this charter.

One person, fishing with one rod:

  • Trolling with 1 rod - we provide one - 50 lb. rod for Bonito, Dorado, Wahoo or when available one - 80lb or 130 lb rod for Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Spear fish, Tuna, Wahoo and Dorado.
  • Bottom fishing with one rod - we provide one - 12 to 50 lb rod for Amberjacks, Red Snappers, Barracuda, Tuna, Sting Rays, Sharks and so on.

One person - fishing with two rods:

  • For trolling we provide: one rod for Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Spear fish, Tuna, Wahoo and Dorado + one rod for Bonito, Dorado and Wahoo.
  • For bottom fishing we provide: two 12 to 50 lb. rods for Amberjacks, Red Snappers, Barracuda, Tuna, Sting Rays, Sharks and so on.

  • Fishermen using the option with 3 rods can have one spectator on the fishing trip for FREE.

It is the fishing boat's captain individual decision whether fishing will be trolling or bottom fishing. No two sport fishing trips on Gran Canaria are the same!
The number of passengers aboard the is minimum five and up to ten people, including spectators.
Numbers are determined by the amount of anglers that are fishing with two or more rods and it varies from day to day.
The price includes some sandwiches and one cool drink for each person on board the fishing trip.
Extra drinks are available, price 1 euro.

Spend a day with us as a spectator and enjoy a few hours sunshine on top of the spacious sundeck. Very often we encounter large passages of dolphins, whales, flying fish and turtles for you to watch.

Private Fishing Trip Gran Canaria

The Private Charter fishing trip is especially for people who would prefer to enjoy a whole day fishing with family or friends and to have the boat entirely at their own disposal. This fishing trip option provides you with the choice to go trolling or bottom fishing. If you book our boat for a fishing trip of 8 hours or more we can arrange a combination of both trolling and bottom fishing.

Fishing charters are for one to ten people.

For Full Charters over six hours we include 10 drinks and sandwiches in the price and of course extra drinks are available for 1 euro each.

Usually our fishing boat has a busy schedule and often completely booked for days. A reservation through the internet ensures that one or more places are reserved for you. Try to book as early as possible to make sure there are still free spots. We advise always to book more than a week before the desired date.
