The 236 kilometre-long coastal line of the island of Gran Canaria has more than 60km of beaches, most of them with unique volcanic sand. On Gran Canaria you get a large choice of beaches and when you come for a holiday on Gran Canaria, you can choose a different beach for every day to enjoy.
Ocean temperatures vary between 18 and 22 degrees on average, so it is nice and suitable for a swim even during winter months.
If you don't like swimming and relaxing on the sand, there is always the option enjoy an energizing walk on some of the longest beaches on Gran Canaria:
- The beach of Maspalomas is 6 km. long
- Playa del Ingles has 2700 metres beach line.
- Las Canteras with 2600 metres of beach line.
Of course there are many other beaches with all the facilities and therefore very popular among sunworshippers, for instance:
- Amadores Beach
- Puerto Rico Beach
- San Agustin Beach
- Puerto de Mogan Beach
One can also find virgin beaches a bit farther from the touristic areas and civilization, for instance Veneguera beach or Güi-Güi Beach. During certain seasons they are accessible only by boat.
